Léonard-Parent art gallery

The City of Rimouski, eager to offer its visual artists a suitable exhibition space, now has an art gallery that bears a meaningful name: that of “Léonard Parent”. Known as “Basque”, Léonard Parent painted the face and soul of his country since 1948. An audience of aficionados from this and other countries has always deeply admired his work. This artist, who gave so much of himself through his unwavering commitment to our region, opened a window to the world for Rimouski. The long list of Léonard Parent’s achievements and distinctions is evidence of his outstanding involvement and commitment to Rimouski’s cultural environment. This new gallery is designed to allow local artists to exhibit various visual art forms, including contemporary art.
