Circuits Rimouski

Produced by the Société rimouskoise du patrimoine, these six circuits with a total of 46 panels introduce you to Rimouski’s history and built heritage, while explaining the role played by the river, the railroad, religious congregations and other phenomena in the city’s development.

You can explore them year-round, enjoy a guided tour in summer, and learn more about the transformation of the local urban landscape by consulting the complementary content available on the Société rimouskoise du patrimoine web page.

2 routes are available:

Circuit Évêché:

Discover the history, architecture and heritage of Rimouski since its founding with the Évêché tour! Accompanied by an interpreter-guide, you’ll walk through the downtown area to learn about its major development phases and institutions.

Rimouski modern tour:

Rimouski’s modern heritage, from 1950 to 1975, abounds! After the Great Fire of 1950, many of the region’s architects set to work changing the appearance of the downtown area. Often unappreciated, this modern architecture bears witness to a very specific context, that of the post-war years and the Quiet Revolution.

The tours are done for the 2023 season.
