Discover the island of St. Barnabé!


Again this year, the island of St. Barnabé reveals his hidden wealth to Rimouski and tourists through various activities!

In addition to the 20 miles of hiking trails and 12 campsites will now make it possible by Adventures in Archipelago from kayaking directly from the island.

In addition, the Committee Zip Southeast de l’Estuaire propose talks on coastal habitats of the Bay of Rimouski and the island of St. Barnabé 21, 22, 23, 28, 29 and 30 July and the 4, 5 and 6 August at 10 am 45 or 14 h.

For the second year, visitors to the island of St. Barnabé will meet Manon Savard from the University of Quebec at Rimouski and his team of researchers who continue archaeological work on the presumed location of the dwelling hermit Toussaint-Cartier .

Because the period of spring tides in July and August, tours to the island of St. Barnabé alter the hours of operation, 13, 14 and July 15 and 11, 12 and 13 August. Departures will be from 13 am and returns up to 21 pm and 20 pm in July in August. Adventures Archipelago will also change its hours of hiking to provide an output “sunset”.

Finally, in collaboration with Tourism Rimouski Rimouski Wildlife Reserve is holding a competition to discover the island of St. Barnabas. Visitors are invited to browse the different sites of interpretation and answer 8 questions about the history and wildlife of the island. Participants have the chance to win a fishing package family two days and two nights at the Rimouski Wildlife Reserve.
